SX2025 Concludes with Grand Success, Shattering Records with Over 920,000 Attendees and ฿57 Million in Economic Impact
The next edition is set for November 6-15, 2026, aiming to connect sustainability with the global financial stage.
SUSTAINABILITY EXPO 2025 (SX2025), ASEAN's largest sustainability exposition, drew to a spectacular close, making history with a total of 924,433 visitors, both onsite and online. The event reaffirmed the success of its core "Sufficiency for Sustainability" message to a wide audience. Organizers have already announced that SX2026 will be held from November 6-15, 2026, strategically scheduled to follow the IMF–World Bank Group Annual Meetings. The event will serve as a vital platform to link the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with global financial, fiscal, and investment policies.
Young Generation Shows Strong Engagement in Sustainability
Mrs. Thongjai Thanachanan, Head of the SX2025 Committee, revealed that over the 10-day event, the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC) welcomed 489,627 visitors, while another 434,806 people engaged through online channels. Significantly, the core demographic consisted of young people aged 18-35, with 321,195 attendees from this group, accounting for over one-third of all visitors. This clearly reflects a heightened awareness and engagement in sustainability among the youth.
The event also attracted over 19,194 students, more than 800 expert speakers from around the world, and over 280 leading domestic and international organizations who gathered to share knowledge and innovations.
Generating ฿57 Million for Small Entrepreneurs Without Booth Fees
In terms of the circular economy, SX2025 delivered tangible positive impacts. The SX Food Festival generated over ฿35.6 million in sales, while the SX Marketplace achieved sales exceeding ฿22.1 million. To genuinely support small-scale entrepreneurs, the organizers waived all rental fees for vendors.
Furthermore, the event raised over ฿2.7 million for various foundations, including the Chaipattana Foundation, through initiatives such as the Royal Jazz for Chaipattana Foundation Volume 2 concert, the "Palang Namjai Thai" charity concert, the SX REPARTMENT STORE project, and direct donations from vendors.
Private Sector's Leading Role in Driving SDGs Reaffirmed
Mr. Thapana Sirivadhanabhakdi, President and CEO of Thai Beverage Public Company Limited and Chairman of SX2025, stated, "Sustainability is not the mission of any single individual but a shared responsibility for everyone on this planet. For the past six years, SX has been a response to the United Nations' call for the private sector and civil society to take a leading role in driving the SDGs. We have done so by embracing the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy, which serves as a tangible 'how-to' guide to share with the world."
This year's success was further highlighted by a collaboration with Enactus, a global youth organization with representatives from 32 countries attending, and the remarkable 40% year-on-year growth in visitors to the SX Main Exhibition, which welcomed 172,172 people.
Delivering Concrete Environmental Impact
On the environmental front, SX2025 reduced greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by over 26.6 million tons. The event also meticulously managed thousands of kilograms of recyclable materials, including PET bottles, aluminum cans, cardboard, and food waste, demonstrating a serious commitment to creating a positive environmental impact.
SX2026 Set to Bridge Sustainability with Global Finance
The exposition will return as Sustainability Expo 2026 from November 6-15, 2026. The timing is strategically scheduled to follow Thailand's hosting of the IMF-World Bank Annual Meetings, positioning SX2026 as a key platform for integrating the SDGs with global financial, fiscal, and investment policies.
This strategic move will underscore Thailand's role in driving a sustainable global future, built on a foundation of wisdom and concrete action, while championing the strengths of the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy on the world's financial stage.
