Inspiration Behind Building Sustainability-Focused Startups
From Ideas to Impact: The Role of Startups in Driving Sustainability
Business is a vital force in advancing sustainability, especially through young entrepreneurs who are ready to drive economic, social, and environmental progress. Their business concepts are not only about growth, but also about embedding sustainability into every step of development.
At SX TALK STAGE, part of SUSTAINABILITY EXPO 2025, four innovative startups took the stage to share their visions, spark ideas, and inspire audiences under the theme “Inspiration Behind Building Sustainability-Focused Startups.” Their stories reflect a future where business is not just business, but a true force for positive social and environmental change.

CERO – A carbon credit platform for individuals to easily turn carbon-reducing activities into digital credits. Inspired by the belief that managing one’s carbon footprint shouldn’t be difficult or distant, CERO empowers people to calculate and offset emissions easily and transparently. Its challenge: building awareness and motivation. Today, CERO has built a community of over 40,000 users, cutting carbon emissions equivalent to planting hundreds of trees—proof of how small actions can scale into social impact.
MATTERPIECE – A jewelry brand that transforms recycled materials into art. Founders Punyisa Leepakorn and Pattharaman Srisuchat began by reimagining used glass bottles into elegant jewelry pieces, despite having no background in material science. Their journey combined learning with creativity, leading to products that meet real market needs while also reducing waste and creating jobs for Thai glass artisans. MATTERPIECE shows how jewelry can become a symbol of sustainability and creativity.

DooRae – An AI-powered telemedicine and mobile clinic service for rural health. Driven by personal experiences of seeing elderly relatives struggle to access care, founder Chotipat Chotisarpshonkorn created smart diagnostic kits enabling village health volunteers to provide fast, reliable care. The challenge: ensuring usability for patients, volunteers, and doctors alike. Beyond technology, DooRae’s impact is social—helping bedridden patients access disability rights they previously couldn’t claim.

Noc Care – Automatic helmet sterilization cabinets for motorcycle taxi drivers. Founder Phasu Aknivan wanted to improve hygiene and safety for riders while adding convenience. The challenge lay in building awareness of the importance of sanitization. Today, success isn’t only measured in sales, but in how often the service is used and how it creates new income opportunities for riders who join Noc Care’s Service Team.

The session made one thing clear: sustainability must be the bedrock of every business. The startups sent a message to the audience:
“Don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone, even if it’s filled with uncertainty or failure. Devoting yourself to what you love is the power that drives real change and sustainable growth.”
These entrepreneurs proved that when innovation meets determination, startups can grow stronger and become powerful drivers of a sustainable future.
