Thai Bridgestone Co., Ltd. and its affiliates have reaffirmed their leadership in sustainability, presenting their vision and innovations for a sustainable society on the SX TALK STAGE at SUSTAINABILITY EXPO (SX2025), ASEAN's largest sustainability exposition. Bridgestone is an organization that has been consistently recognized with sustainability awards within the Thailand Supply Chain Network (TSCN).
The discussion, titled “Driving Towards Sustainability: Tire Innovation and Circular Economy Management,” outlined Bridgestone's global roadmap for the Bridgestone 3.0 era, with a long-term 2050 goal of using 100% renewable energy and 100% recycled/renewable materials.

Corporate Vision: Becoming a Sustainable Solution Company
Mr. Attapon Paewngam, Director of Engineering and Sustainability, spoke about the organization's adaptation under its E8 Commitment (a framework for sustainability practices). "At Bridgestone, our mission has always been 'Serving Society with Superior Quality.' However, with global changes, we are now intensifying our focus on sustainability and aim to become a 'sustainable solution company,' which is the key phrase for Bridgestone 3.0."
Mr. Chalerm Meeklavikorn, End-User Sales Department Manager, highlighted the readiness of the Bridgestone group in Thailand, a key production and R&D hub. "The Bridgestone group in Thailand comprises 11 companies, covering a wide range of tire products from passenger cars to aircraft. The ecosystem here is well-established to support activities aligned with our 2030 and 2050 sustainability goals."
Reinforcing the Circular Economy: The Power of Retreading and Comprehensive Services
Bridgestone emphasized Thailand's significant potential in the circular economy, particularly in the agricultural industry, which can yield renewable materials. An example is the extraction of silica from rice husk ash.
The retreading business is central to driving the circular economy, especially for truck and bus tires.
Mr. Tawan Klomwit, Senior Manager of the Retread Center, stated, "The retreading business helps create sustainability for our customers' operations and also for future generations. A single truck tire weighs 70-80 kilograms, so retreading significantly reduces resource consumption. One tire casing can be retreaded multiple times, which clearly lowers costs and protects the environment."
Regarding customer service and end-of-life management, Mr. Phawit Am-tim, Managing Director of Bridgestone A.C.T. (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (operator of Cockpit service centers), explained the crucial role of their service points. "All products made by Bridgestone pass rigorous QC and testing, so quality and safety are assured. As Cockpit, we also act as the bridge between the factory and the customer, accepting used tires for trade-ins. These are then sent to our partners for recycling to recover carbon black and steel, which is part of our contribution to sustainability."

‘Enlighten’ Innovation for the Era of Electric and Sustainable Vehicles
Bridgestone has also developed innovations for future mobility, notably the Enlighten technology, which is featured in their latest tire model, the Turanza 6.
Mr. Attapon emphasized that Enlighten technology makes tires lighter and reduces rolling resistance. This leads to lower fuel/energy consumption and reduced CO2 emissions without compromising safety or driving performance.
Bridgestone remains committed to achieving Carbon Neutrality by 2050 through an ecosystem approach that spans the entire supply chain, including working closely with suppliers to measure and reduce their greenhouse gas emissions.

Additionally, Ms. Panadda Tornmanee, the moderator and a representative of TSCN, invited entrepreneurs interested in sustainability to join the network. "The TSCN network has over 10,000 organizations ready to drive the private sector towards sustainability and enhance its competitiveness in the global market."
