Sustainability Expo 2024 (SX 2024)—ASEAN’s largest sustainability expo—returned for its fifth year under the theme “Good Balance, Better World.” As part of the event, the SX Talk Stage invited attendees to explore the path to a new life by nurturing physical and mental wellbeing. The session featured thought-provoking insights and personal experiences from Cindy Sirinya Bishop, co-founder of Dragonfly, and Amorntep Sajjmunivong, founder and CEO of Sati App. These two platforms aim to foster a more sustainable society by encouraging balance from within and inspiring individuals to take real action toward transformative change. The event drew large crowds at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center.

Cindy Sirinya Bishop, an advocate for women’s empowerment and sustainable self-expression, shared her journey as co-founder of Dragonfly, a pan-Asian platform. She emphasized that no life is without turbulence—she herself has weathered personal storms and continues to maintain balance through self-reflection to protect her mental and physical health. She noted that everyone, especially leaders—whether in organizations, communities, families, or thought leadership—must safeguard their own energy to drive positive change in the world.
Cindy explained that she used to think of wellbeing purely in physical terms. Now, she recognizes that true wellbeing encompasses the mind, body, social connection, and wisdom.
“The new trend is not to wait until we’re sick to see a doctor. We must care for our mental and physical health from the start—especially by instilling emotional resilience in young children. That way, they grow into adults who can manage emotions and stress effectively,” she said.
This philosophy inspired the founding of Dragonfly, a platform that champions equity, inclusion, and societal transformation through shared inspiration. The pandemic prompted a shift toward inner wellbeing and redefining leadership—where Leadership + Wellbeing = LEAD WELL. Cindy advocates for a new type of leader: one who nurtures mind, body, and spirit to inspire others and contribute meaningfully to the world. Dragonfly fosters unity, resilience, and mindfulness-driven leadership by cultivating positive thinking through shared activities.
Cindy also announced the upcoming Dragonfly Summit 2024: H.E.A.L. (Harmony, Empower, Acceptance, and Love), taking place from October 22–23, 2024 at Paragon Hall, Siam Paragon. The summit will be Asia’s leading forum for social transformation, helping individuals unlock their highest potential and contribute to a more compassionate world. The two-day immersive event will feature globally renowned speakers such as:
-
Yuval Noah Harari, author of the international bestseller Sapiens, with nearly 30 million copies sold in over 60 languages.
-
Steven Bartlett, founder of Social Chain and creator of The Diary of a CEO, Europe’s top-performing podcast.
-
Dr. Shefali, a celebrated U.S.-based psychologist known for blending Western psychology with Eastern philosophy to strengthen families and promote self-awareness.
“A good leader doesn’t need to have all the answers,” Cindy said. “They can lead from behind, empowering employees to thrive. Even a child can be a leader simply by standing up against bullying in school.”
Dragonfly also bridges generational gaps and promotes better communication across age groups. Regarding mental health, Cindy stressed the importance of daily self-care. Practices like mindfulness and meditation come in many forms—what matters most is finding the right one for you. That way, when challenges arise, you’ll be able to respond with clarity and resilience.

On the same stage, Amorntep Sajjmunivong, founder of Sati App, shed light on Thailand’s growing mental health crisis. According to the Department of Mental Health, Thailand has around 3 million diagnosed psychiatric patients, but the actual number is estimated to be as high as 10 million. This means 7 million people are living with undiagnosed or untreated mental health issues due to limited access to care, lack of awareness, and shortages of mental health professionals—most of whom are concentrated in urban areas. Clinics often have wait times of up to six months, delaying much-needed treatment.
Sati App was developed to address this gap. It serves as a safe, anonymous space for anyone facing emotional distress—not just those diagnosed with depression. Users are matched with trained volunteers who act as compassionate listeners. The app aims to provide sustainable mental health support and promote societal wellbeing from the inside out.
